Lisa Mina, RD, MBA

Lisa’s expertise is multi-faceted. She has held senior roles leading business strategy, consumer and health professional nutrition communications, nutrition policy, regulatory affairs, public-private collaborations, issues management and nutrition research strategies.

 


 
 

Prior to forming FoodHealth, Lisa spent ten years in the food agriculture sector in senior leadership roles focusing on national and international nutrition policy, nutrition communication and issues management. 

She was a member of Health Canada’s Trans Fat Task Force. She then focused on business and marketing strategy as the Executive Director, Consumer Marketing, in the Canadian beef sector. She collaborated with a range of stakeholders including grocery retailers, food manufacturers, key influencers, academia, government, health professionals and health associations.

Lisa also has extensive experience in the food and beverage companies. She represented Canada's largest grocery retailers, at the Retail Council of Canada, on national food issues such as nutrition labelling, sodium and menu labelling. She facilitated multi-stakeholder health and wellness strategies, including the Nutrition Facts Education Campaign spearheaded by Health Canada.

At one of the largest global food and beverage companies,  Lisa managed regulatory affairs issues and successfully leveraged nutrition science and trends to drive innovation and marketing opportunities. On a global level, she collaborated to develop an enhanced global nutrition communication strategy and Issues Mapping Framework.

Lisa began her career as a public health dietitian in chronic disease prevention. She is a graduate of the University of Guelph, Ontario, with a BASc. in Applied Human Nutrition. She then achieved a Masters of Business Administration from Royal Roads University in British Columbia. She is a Registered Dietitian and a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario as well as the Dietitians of Canada.

In her spare time Lisa loves to stay active, be a mom and travel. She has completed four marathons including Boston.
